Joseph T. Justice
JOSEPH JUSTICE graduated from LaGrange College in 1973 with a B.A. in English. He graduated Cum Laude from Woodrow Wilson College of Law in 1978. He was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1978. During the early 1980's he served as Chief Enforcement Officer and Deputy Insurance Commissioner in charge of the Enforcement Division of the Comptrollers General Office. Subsequently, he served as Vice President and General Counsel for several insurance companies and agencies. He has served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Georgia Association of Property and Casualty Insurers and has provided congressional testimony regarding ERISA issues. He has also served as an instructor of business law at a local college.
Mr. Justice has been engaged in private practice since 1985. During that time he has been involved in thousands of cases. He now conducts a general practice with a significant amount of trial work. He has devoted a substantial amount of his practice to juvenile law and family law during the past 20 years. He has served as a Special Administrative Law Judge for the State of Georgia, and he has served as Special Assistant Attorney General, representing the Paulding County Department of Family and Children Services and the Department of Human Services - Adult Protective Services.
In 2002, Mr. Justice authored the book, It Deserves Tellin', a collection of vignettes about life experiences. For the past several years he has, from time to time, been a contributing writer to the Dallas New Era and the Brightside newspapers. He was named 'Special Assistant Attorney General of the Year' at the 2005 Georgia Child Placement Conference "for his commitment to Georgia's Children and Families." He was named "Champion for Children" for the year 2007 by the Paulding County CASA organization. He authored the book, Lawyer's Week Before Christmas, published by Pelican Publishing Company (2010). Since then he has authored two more books: Mountains To Climb and On The Way To Silver Whiskers.
He also serves as County Administrator and County Conservator for the Paulding County Probate Court, and has served as a Guardian ad Litem in the Superior Courts of Paulding County and Cobb County. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia.
